-------- click on to enter text into with a max charcter size------------

Simply put Text Box from main tool bar to the stage.

Window--> Properties
Set as "Input Text", (Default is "Static Text")
You can select "Maximum characters"

-------other boxes that can be clicked on to display an image browser---------
Create an object (text or box or image ..etc)
Then create it as a button. (Modify --> Convert to Symbol --> Button)

Then you can give actions acording to your movie using follwoing actions.
gotoAndPlay();
gotoAndStop();
stop();
play();
