I am running Backup Exec on a Windows Server 2003, I am currently running 3 jobs and with all jobs notifications have been set up.

When I requet a test notification I get "A test notification has been queued for delivery to the selected recipient."

Yet this email is not sitting in any queues nor is it in the inbox.

I have also run a telnet test and again I get the same message.

Please help as this is happening with more than one site.

First, ensure that you have SMTP running on your server (assuming you are not using an Exchange server or some other e-mail server). Next, open up Internet Information Services from Administrative Tools, Right-click on Default SMTP Virtual Server and select Properties. Check the Access Tab and go to Connection. Click Add and add the IP address of the BackupExec Server and click OK. Next, click on the Relay button and do the same thing. Make sure that the 'Only the list below' Radio Button is selected. Click OK and OK again. Try to test now and see if it works. Hope this helps.
