SBS 2003 OWA not working

I had everything running fine for quite a while.  One day I realized I could not access the companyweb from inside the network.  I went about trying to fix it and it is now working.  The thing I did to fix it was remove frontpage extensions (per some information I got from the KB).  Now however, I cannot remote into the machine, cannot use OWA or just about anything else with the default website.  I just get file not found errors (404) when I try to access almost anything in the default web site.  If I access the machine name (ie http://machine-sbs), I receive the same default page that I get when I access companyweb, but if I try accessing http://machine-sbs/exchange I just get 404.  If I try using the internet address (ie http://machine-sbs.internet.com/) I also get 404 errors.  Whatever I broke, I did it well.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi rhuddles,

How about going back and reinstalling those FrontPage extensions you uninstalled?

I'm not sure which KB article you are referring to, but I don't believe that any of them recommend removing the FrontPage extensions from the "DEFAULT WEB SITE".  There is an article which recommends removing and reinstalling the SHAREPOINT EXTENSIONS on the COMPANYWEB site to get it working again, perhaps you are referring to that?  If so, it's important to note that Microsoft has ridiculously named the FrontPage extension manager, "Microsoft Sharepoint Administration", while the Sharepoint extensions are handled in the "Sharepoint Central Administration".

I reinstalled the Frontpage extensions and now I cannot access the companyweb any longer.  I also still cannot access the default web site (or anything else).

After I reran the CEICW wizard after reinstalling the front page extensions, I can now access companyweb, but everything else is still down.

Ok, I fixed it myself.  It had to do with the Kerberos authentication.  Apparently when I installed the Sharepoint 2.0 updates something happened and I did not notice until later.  I ran across the KB article #823265 and applied the changes they suggested.  Now it is all working beautifully
