Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar

Hi when I click on ( Place volume icon in the taskbar ) I got this message
Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the Volume Control program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.

I got this answer from this website,but still not clear for me ];EN-US;Q319095

I add my xp cd on my pc it is in drive E:
And I open the run I wrote cmd .
so from here please could you help me what should I write exactly please.

I use window Xp pro  and there is a sound I can hear that.

    cd i386
    expand -r sndvol32.ex_ %systemroot%\system32
