HP DesignJet 500 Driver crashes wehn printing from Internet Explorer
Using a HP DesignJet 500 that is connected to the network via JetDirect 500 Ethernet Priny port. I can print the windows test page, and Users anc print from AutoCad 14... but when I try to print a map from an Internet Explorer window, it crashes with a NT Driver error.
If you watch the spooler, it spools, and when complete the error pops us and then the spooler deletes the entry.
I have updated the driver, but no change.
The Local Computer is running XP and the printer is shared through a Windows 2003 Server.
Any ideas ??

I tried it and still no good, any other ideas ??
could possibly be a core services problem, have you tried to reapply SP2 and updates?

Doubt if that is it, it was working prior to upgrading the server to W2K3, so I think it is is related to that.
Only other things we did was to update the virus scann (Symantec Corp edition)

That does not make a great deal of sense. Can you print to the ip of the printer instead of pushing thru the 2k3 server? If so I would try to bypass the server. I do not think this is the problem, but it is worth a shot.

you could try unticking "enable advanced printer features" in the same tab as the spooler settings.
This will disable EMF spooling.

Finally found the solution.. none of the above worked... I had to roll the driver back from the current HP 6.0.3 to 5.3.5... as soon as I did that all the issues went away, just had to install the driver on each machine, as the server had already downloaded the new one.
