I have found over 1000, 4kb files in My Documents folder with an IDX extension?

I found these files last Saturday they start with CA0A.IDX to CTUC.IDX. Then they go from SA00/IDX to STUC.IDX? I have managed to put them all in the Recycle Bin & left them all there.

I have checked my other programs Office, IE & Outlook Express and everything is working okay.
However I do not know what program has put these files into My Documents folder & therefore I do not know how stop this IDX file extension recurring again?
Thank you,

I'd bet that are files from autmatic indexing of hard-disks, You can turn them off if you like see the properties of you disks, look for indexing for search or the like and turn it off
