Is there any way or device that will turn on a computer remotely besides wake on LAN?

Lets say some kind of device you could use where you can dial a phone number or turn it on over the internet etc.

Will wake on LAN work over the internet? What do you need to do that if so?

Some motherboards support Wake on Ring, where the motherboard looks for a ring comming in the modem port and wakes the PC up.

Wake on Lan can work over the Internet as well:

To do it over the internet what do you need to have? Im assuming a static IP and some way to translate it from your router/firewall to your local machines IP?

Reclaim your office - Try the MB 660 headset now!

High level of background noise often makes it difficult for employees to concentrate fully on their jobs – or to communicate clearly on calls. The MB 660 headset helps you create a disruption free workspace.

Static IP is a must have....you would use port forwarding and that is deterimined by the device being used.

port forwarding if you want to go behind a router..
