Citrix MetaFrame Auto Updates

Have Citrix installed on a Windows 2003 Server and was curious whether there was a way for Citrix to scan my Server for needed updates and patches - the same thing Windows Updates does.

Or do I have to go to the Citrix page and pick all the downloads/updates manually?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You have to install Citrix updates manually.  However I would take the approach of "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" when applying patches.  You should NEVER install any hotfixes if you aren't experiencing the problems defined in the hotfix.

experiencing LOTS of hot fix issues, definitely no shortcut around it?
No but that is by design.  Unforunately for you it's more work to find the hotfixes you need and install them, but it's better than having your server automatically install patches that could potentially cause problems on your server.  It also helps you track down which updates might be causing problems in the future because you (hopefully will have a record of what was installed and when).  It's hard to determine that if the patches were applied automatically.

If you haven't already found this page, it's the place to go to find all the hotfixes you need for each citrix product:

If you login to the page you can see hotfixes & security bulletins but they still will not install automatically

Yeah, i know where the pages are for hotfixes and updates, was just kinda hoping there was some sort of windows update feature out there someplace...

The best strategy I found so far for Citrix Servers updates is using the latest hotfix rollup instead of the hotfixes.
I agree that "if it works don't touch" so in any new server i introduce in the farm i set it up identically with the others, if i need to install a hotfix rollup i will do it in waves (for testing first). Hotfix management is not a strong point of Citrix, even with the latest console which supports a basic hotfix reporting tool.
