Everytime I open Microsoft Project 2000 I receive this error:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINPROJ.EXE

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."

I've reinstalled the application but the problem presists. All of my internet research on this problem has been fruitless. Any suggestions?

Hello cheesebugah,

when did this started to happen? did you install something new or an update of some software?

if you have Adobe installed try to uninstall it and see if Project works after a reboot

hope this helps a bit

No new programs were installed - just normally using the program, it crashed and upon restarting the application this error message was displayed.

I am using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional and your suggestion to unistall it worked. How does this program correlate to MS Proj 2000? Why does adobe affect ms proj?

Thanks for your help,

i do not know exactly but there is a toolbar connection from adobe to office applications and in your case it goes wrong

what you can try

1. uninstall project
2. reboot
3. install adobe
4. install project
5. reboot

and see if project works

Try delete template file called GLOBAL.MPT found under the users profile in the application data folder.
