Type 3 or Type 4 JDBC database drivers for MSSQL 2000 and MS ACcess

What is the different between Type 3 and Type 4 JDBC database drivers?

I need JDBC database drivers for MSSQL 2000 and MS Access,
can any one suggest a type 3 or type 4 drivers for both of them?

I'd suggest you use the JDBC-ODBC bridge for MS Access (use the sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver)
