I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you the administrator of this network?  When did it stop working?  how many computers are experiencing the problem?  Have you tried flushing out the temporary internet files?

I would try a nslookup.  Goto a dos prompt and type "nslookup www.amazon.com"  See if you get the proper IP address for Amazon.  It should be 72.21.206.5.

Then try a traceroute.  Goto a dos prompt and try "tracert www.amazon.com" and see how far you get.

Also make sure there are no bogus entries in your HOSTS. file located in %system32\drivers\etc\.  Its just a text file and it shouldn't have any entries that mention www.amazon.com

Finally, you should experiment with downloading another browser like Mozilla Firefox or Opera and try to determine if the problem lies with IE or with your computer/network.

And I presume administrators and power users can see it find?

Masnrock, if thats the case - somehow its permissions related.. adding everyone to powerusers might fix that.. some progs we have to do that here.

Only administrator's account has access to DOS,but the thing is I don't have any problems going to Amazon home page when I loged on as Admin.Poweruser and User, however can't get to the Amazon Home page, but if you type in search engine Amazon books etc.then you can go there, serf it and make all necessary things
So been loged on as user I can't run nslookup, tracert or ping that IP.
I can't download and use any other browser - it is company policy,we have one image for all buisness with a little varieties for different departments

Hi vnmikhal,

It almost get loaded. And then it just stays like this for as long as you let it without any progress. You can see link or two and you can click on them and it would take you further, but the problem is,that home page never got loaded completely

Good question JJ.  It sounds like there is something on the front page that isn't loading correctly.  Goto Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced.  Uncheck "disable script debugging" and check "display a notification".  Then exit all IEs and start one up again and go to Amazon.  You may now receive an error that details what is going on.
