Presenting a dialog box to the user

i have an mfc based application and a dialog in it. What i want to do is the following:

when OnInitDialog is called, i want to present the user with a popup dialog(or message box) where a string value can be entered. this user entered string value is then needed in the original dialog...thanks a lot..

    Well just take a look at this about Dialog Boxes.. <== just create a CEdit on child dialog and access its text fro  parent dialog that you need to add here.
