Raid 0 trooubleshoot black screen

beginner Asus A8n-Sli motherboard.  I installed xp media center. I was running fine. I decided to create a raid 0 with two sata 160 gig ea.  I switched the sata cables to sata raid on the motherboard, I enabled the raid on the BIOS. I didn't have a clue of what to do so I went with the manual. I started with the silicon image raid, I made a mistake and  deleted the raid I created for disc 0 and  and right away I created it again, then I went to step two and did the same for disc 1(second drive) I used the full capacity of both hard drives for the RAID size.  I exit and restarted. The computer boots normally but stays with black screen. it allows you to go to set up but there is no sign of XP.  Did I loose all my data? Hope not because it took me at least 10 diffrent ttimes to install xp

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

if you added your boot drive to the raid set it was reinitialized=deleted
That means you have to reinstall the OS
