Is there any other ways Java applets can be used to enchance network security?
I know one way that Java applets enhance security network is that they have an applet security manager that will not allow applets that have been loaded over the internet to read or write files on the client file system or making network connections to anyone but the originating host.

    Are you merely looking for a list of features such as that you've described?

    The Java security model consists of unsigned applets running within the "sandbox". A limitation on functionality.
