PEWA Tool E-mails

I have implemented the PEWA Tool and after using the command line format it seems to work and comes back with a listing of the number of accounts it checked and how many are expired.  What I am not getting is the e-mail sent to users.

Does this get queued to be sent later in the day?  or instantly?

I first used my domain account profile but then changed it to not specified, which I understand to be the default.

Do I need Outlook on this machine with a profile to send?

PEWA breaks very easily.
I have deployed it four times, had it running four times and seen it break for no reason that I can see in three of those occasions.

To answer your questions - it sends the messages when it runs. I usually have it on a scheduled task to run during the night.
It needs to run on a machine with Outlook installed. As such, the account used in the scheduled task needs to have permissions on the profile that is being used. I usually use Administrator for everything.

However, given its unreliability, I now use a script from another Exchange MVP:
