GPRS/Erlang Calculation

Hi all,

I need a formula that will convert bits/sec into Erlangs - Can anybody help?

As additional information: We are using GPRS (12.2kb/s per time slot).

I think there is not such simple conversion mechanism from bits/sec to Erlangs.
First they measure different things.
Second It is possible to calculate some kbps value (but this will not be a conversion) but there are other parameters needed except the ones that are specified here.

Hi, I've gotten the answer to my question, the answer is as follows:

If I hold 1 TDMA timeslot for 1 hour I use 1 Erlang of traffic. To convert this into bits/sec I do the following.

As 1 GPRS timeslot carries 12.2Kbits/s, I can just multiply this value by 3600 to get 43,920,000 bits/sec.
Therefore, 1 Erlang is equivalent to 43.92Mb/s.
