Merging partitions in w2k3

Hi there,

I would like to know the best way to merge 2 partitions in w2k3 (C and D)  Its in a RAID config to mirror.  I have read other posts and can't seem to find a simple solution.  Can I use partition magic in w2k3?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I would make sure you have a good backup, then use Acronis Disk Director 10 for servers.

That's the one that seems to be the most popular among the experts here...

Don't know what kind of simple solution you are expecting.  Doing such a merge is NOT a simple task.  Why do you need to merge the partitions?  how large is the C: drive now?  Typically a 10-12 GB C: drive is MORE THAN ENOUGH for 99 out of 100 (my estimate) of the servers out there.  If you configure it correctly so NO DATA lives on the C: drive, then the C: drive only contains the OS, application Program Files, and maybe some temp files.  Are you using SBS server or regular Server 2003?
