Maximum rows (or characters) to be shown in Textarea

What is the maximum possible number of rows and characters that can be displayed in textarea control on html web page.

    If the element has a limit it is 32,700 characters.  This may be browser or HTML version dependent.  I have also seen it mentioned that the element has no limit.  I have never tried to push the "limit."  I am not aware of limit for rows and have never seen one mentioned.

    In either case your server side code should be ready to limit and control the characters sent because HTML and the browser will do little if any.  You could also limit it with client side code but it would be best to not rely on it.
