How to set up Dreamweaver to search on selected text

I have used Dreamweaver for quite a while now but have recently moved to a new job and new setup.  I was able before (both at home and work) to select text in an open file, hit Find (Ctrl-F) and the find dialog box would open with the selected text filled into the 'Find' box.  I don't think that I did anything special to set this up.  However, on my new machine, it doesn't seem to work this way all of the time...I have to copy the text into Clipboard and then paste it into the Find field.  I am on Dreamweaver MX 6.1.  I have looked through all of the Preferences pages and didn't find anything that looked related;  I guess this also could be some sort of Windows setting (I am on Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2)...

Thanks in advance for any assistance on getting this setup!

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi smodesitt,

I had the same problem too, including it working intermittently.  Upgrading to DW8 fixed it.

As far as I can tell, it's a DW/XP interaction thing.  No amount of futzing with the settings did anything for me either.
