Paste image from Microsoft Word into Fireworks
Hi,
I have been given several word documents with content which will go up onto a website. The content contains images which I am trying to copy and paste into Fireworks so that they can be optimized for the web. It worked fine until today.
Now, when I copy the image in Word and go to Fireworks and select New and then Paste the image doen't appear. The new document has the same dimensions as the image in word so Fireworks knows there's something to be pasted, but when I paste the image in it pastes an empty bitmap instead of the image.
I hope I'm describing this clearly enough.
I'm using Win XP and Fireworks MX if that helps.
Has anyone run into this before?

Restart your computer...you lost system resources.

Unfortunately that was the first thing I tried and it didn't work.
It might be something to do with resources though, because it works when I close MS Outlook. Although it doesn't make much sense because it worked before no matter what other programs were open, and even now, I have lots of other apps open just not Outlook. Unless the last security update from MS has turned Outlook into a resource hog???

How much RAM do you have in the machine?
Oh yeah....Fireworks does hog memory. When running graphic intense programs, I run into the same problem as you.

I have 1GB of RAM and a 3GHz processor.
The problem just started today. I've been able to run whatever I want alongside Fireworks with no problems before.
Even when the problem occurs, I can still copy an image from, say, a website and paste it in just fine. It's just when I try to paste from Word that I get this, and it seems that it only happens when Outlook is open too. Weird...

I was wondering if it might have something to do with a MS update. I'll repost if it continues... or else I'll just upgrade Fireworks to the latest version.
