How to install C Complier on windows XP system

I am Trying to Install C compiler on my PC (windows XP), but it display below message

C:\TC.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYTEM32\AUTOEXE.NT. The system is not suitable for running MS-Dos and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose “Close” to terminate the application

However I got success in installing the C Complier on my Laptop which also has windows XP as operation system

Please advice

ni most cases this is caused by the file actually missing the autoexe.nt try to do a search in search files and folder and then if you find a autoexe.nt on the system place it back in the system32 folder and it should work great.  SP2 has been know to erase this file and it will only work up till nyour next reboot then it will delete it again but for this purpose it should help you out.
