CPU - amd

I have XP Pro. on my laptop ;
mobile AMD Athlon(tm) XP 25000+
1.86 GHz 704 for Ram

Is it ok to upgrade CPU to a faster one? Or the only thing I can do is to add more memory?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi VBdotnet2005,

as long as your board supports the faster processor then there is no worries, xp allows 3 hardware changes before it requires reactivation and at worst you will have to perform a repair install of windws

Cheers!

It's all about what your the system board supports. And assuming that your Windows installation is legit, having to reactivate shouldn't be an issue either.
