How to add running serial numbers in Visual basic data report?

Dear Sir / Madam,

I want to print the details of the table in a data report in a predefined format. In which I need a serial nos also to be printed. Pls advise me how to print the continuous serial nos in detail section of visual basic data report.

    Assuming you want these numbers to be unique.
    You will need to have a field in your database that is the autoincrement type, or code an autoincrement number for each row in the database. Then including that field in the data source for the report and putting that field in the detail section of the report with display it.
