Ftp virtual directory

I am trying to make users only see their home directories when they log into an ftp.  I dont think I want to use user isolation, I would prefer using virtual directories.  Here is the deal, we have one static ip and 5 different users who all need to see only their home directory.  My understanding is I create the ftp server in iis and make the root of the ftp something like this c:\FTPserver  ,  then I create folders such as c:\ftpserver\user1 , c:\ftpserver\user2 and so on.  then I create a virtual directory called user1 and make its path to c:\ftpserver\user1 , however when I try to log in after doing this I am getting an error that home direcotry is inaccessable or invalid username and password... any ideas ?

you are getting error because user 1 have not permission on the user 2 directories so please give the permission both user oon the home folder but permission should be read /write but its also depend on your requirement .

So please give the permission like

user2 rights on the c:\ftpserver\user1 folder
user1 rights on the c:\ftpserver\user2 folder
