Hello experts, I am curious about updating software installed on a client computer without uninstalling and then re-installing the newer version. &nbsp;For example, windows has windows update, quickbooks has the 'quickbook update agent' and so on. &nbsp;These applications automatically check for updates and download them in the background. &nbsp;when everything is ready to go, they install on shutdown or when the user tells it to.<br />

How do applications do this? Is it hard/time consuming? I am especially interested in how to do this in C# (2.0). &nbsp;If you could point me in the right direction for this, I would greatly appreciate it.<br />

Automatically updating software

C# is an object-oriented programming language created in conjunction with Microsoft’s .NET framework. Compilation is usually done into the Microsoft Intermediate Language (MSIL), which is then JIT-compiled to native code (and cached) during execution in the Common Language Runtime (CLR).
