Program stop responding, need to kill them with task manager...

Hi there!

Last weeks microsoft update release installed through WSUS and at least one win2000 pro has these symptoms: AutoCAD: When trying to go to File - Open and then click on the "Look in:" then AutoCAD crashes, have to shut it down with task manager (where the program seems to be in the state of "not responding". Same thing happens with some other software that try to open something from network drive the program hangs right there. Also zip-programs hang, if you try to extract files to, but opening is ok (since it does not use network...).

What could I try? Anyone having the sama problems?

I wear a lot of hats...

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That's caused by the 908531 update (Vulnerability in Windows Explorer Could Allow Remote Code Execution); uninstall or try the workaround here:
Problems in Windows Explorer or the Windows shell after you install security update MS06-015
