Lotus Notes Programming?

Hi,

I would like to write a simple database application in lotus notes.
I have never programmed for lotus notes before, and I do not know what I need to get started:

- Any development kit that I have to download? is it free?
- What language does it use? where can I learn it? Any tutorials from the web?

Many Thanks

I am not sure about license. From notes.net, if you search, there will be a trail version for 90days. You have to check the site for download.

Hi
You can check the lotus notes red book from IBM, it is kind of guide
http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/e7141c118473e67885256a420076cf40/d04592e8c121e76185256e7f00479c7d?OpenDocument

here you find the lotus domino hand book
http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/SG245331.html?Open it is very useful, since it gives you an overview of the language that you will use for development which is LotusScript, it resembles visual basic very much.
