Also, is there a way to detect VirtualPC saved state sessions restarting?

By the way, it is a service that will need to implement "behaviour" based on noticing such "events",

OK, I have come up with and implemented a perfectly acceptable workround ...

By monitoring passing time, if I find (arbitrarily) 10 seconds have passed without me noticing, then I am assuming there has been some hibernation/VirtualPC-SavedState type activity and I then perform "MyStuff".

This works perfectly well.
