Sent items limit surpassed

I have a client using Outlook Express 6.  They have exceeded the 2gb limit for the sent items folder.

I have deleted 2 years worth of sent emails but the "sent items.dbx" file remains the same size 2gb.  Is there a way to repair this?

The original problem was that email was being sent out but it remained in the outbox because the sent items box was full.  Now even after cleaning up the sent items box, the file size remains the same and the original problem remains.

Thanks

Greetings, yeller !

If you are really using Outlook Express 6 and not Microsoft Outlook, there is no 2 GB limit.  But it is always better to work with smaller files.

To reduce the size of Send Item folder, highlight it and compact the folder. Go to File > Compact.

Best wishes!

Outlook Look Express 6: version confirmed

Why do you think it will NOT allow anymore sent emails to be added to this folder (sent itmes)?  Also the email I send remains in the Outbox even though the recipient has received it.

As soon as I turn off "save a copy of message to sent items" I do not get any email stuck in the outbox.

Are you 100% sure abou the "no limit"?

yeller,

Open up OE after the dbx file deletion, and OE will recreate a good OE folder.

thanks war1

I was hoping that the dbx file was not corrupt but I guess it was.
I've just renamed the "sent items.dbx" file.  OE recreated it and it now works.

Thanks again,

Yeller
