Im using EDM to backup software to our SAN.  On this server i also have REMEDY running which uses remedyportmapper on port 112.  For EDM to work it also has  portmapper called nportmapper running.  The two mappers conflict with each other and either way I need both working but especiallt the remedy.  Is there a way I can change the dependancy for the EDM software to point to the remedyportmapper.  Essentially they do the same thing??

EDM Backup Services Fail to Start
Symptom: EDM-Link or Epcommd service failed to start, with the message "The dependency service or group failed to start."

Cause: A conflict with a third-party portmapper is preventing the EDM NT services EDM-Link and Epcommd from running.

Solution: Open a command prompt window and run the following commands to explicitly set the dependency for the third-party portmapper to be used by EDM-Link and Epcommd. In these commands SCM Service Display Name is the name of the portmapper as it appears in Services (Start > Settings > Control Panel > Services). You must type the double quotes where indicated and the commands must be entered in the order shown:

C:\> epcommsvc -remove
C:\> edmlink_daemon -remove
C:\> epcommsvc -portmapper "SCM Service Display Name" -install
C:\> edmlink_daemon -portmapper "SCM Service Display Name" -install
