"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This indicates a drive failure (unable to read data). Replace the drive (under warranty if possible).
Backup your data ASAP, because that 40GB maxtor (am i right) is not gonna last

Oh, btw, I think that drive is a 5400RPM drive. Go out and buy a 7200 rpm drive, under $80 of course, and you'll know a dramatic increase in performace of your system also
