We have a terminal server that needs to get its licenses from another server. This server is located in a different subnet so we need to open the correct port on the firewall. What port needs to be open for this to work?

    Accepted Solution

You'll need to open TCP 135 (RPC)

(The conversation then picks a randomly allocated high TCP port --
The firewall should allow the random port automatically as a part of a legitimate converstation)

also note that there is a glitch in the terminal server licensing server.  it sometimes cannot find license servers that are not in its own SITE.  you will need to make a registry entry to fix this problem as there is no hotfix at this point.  i will check my notes and post the key if you have this problem
