Outlook 2003 Tasks - can not accept tasks

When some one in my office assigns a task to me, I recieve the e-mail.  The e-mail can be viewed in the preview pane, but can not be opened, accepted or declined.  If there is and attachement with the task, the attachment can be opened from the preview pane.  Out of 5 computers connected to a peer to peer network using XP pro, my computer is the only one that can not deal with assigned tasks.  Up to 2 weeks ago I was able to accept tasks.  This changed when we unloaded a trial version of Share O. I have repaired and re-installed outlook - no change.  I have checked the other computers and they are set to RTF.  I have ckecked some of the other links and they are no longer available.

At this point I'm lost.

Hi there,

You may check this one, related to a recent Windows Update.

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=918165 for explanation and fix

Or do this (which is a quick way of doing what MS suggest):
Copy the following to the clipboard (it's all one line even if wrapped in your browser - paste into notepad and remove line breaks if necessary, and copy again)
Click Start, run
Paste into the dialogue box and hit return.

==Copy below here==
REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Cached" /v "{A4DF5659-0801-4A60-9607-1C48695EFDA9} {000214E6-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} 0x401" /t REG_DWORD /d 1

ASKER

Ran the above fix, reboot, and no change.
I did some more digging on the internet.  There were two situtations similar to mine and the reccomendation was to  uninstall security update for Outlook 2003 Kb892843.  Outlook now works the way it should.
