Centrino laptop can't connect to access point

I have a problem i can not connect my wirelessly to my access point it drops out, but if i use my laptop using external power it works, this problem only exits while using the battery power

    is there any power saving settings defined in your laptop?
    check in you WiFi card settings for power management. (go to properties of your wireless connection and click on "configure" button)
