ok, I need way more background on this progect....

Do you mean literaly use maxscript to attach sound files to geaometry groups, or are we talking rolling out an interactive 3d application for web or desktop?

- The only thing close to this I have done is with Adobe (formerly macromedia) director. You can fake it prety good with flash, but that takes almost as much work as realy doing 3d in director (outputs to exe for say a cd-rom or shockwave for web)

hit us with some more info, and we will all do our best to help!

im workin on my final year project (due 24th april). i have modeled a computer case containing the mother board with a graghics card and a memory card, the cd rom drive, the floppy disk drive as well as the hard disk. now i need to make it interactive. the user is supposed to have three optiions
1. take a tour of the computer case and be abkle to learn about the different components inside  (i.e the mother board with a graghics card and a memory card, the cd rom drive, the floppy disk drive as well as the hard disk). i thought of using pop ups with relevent info so they can pop up when the mouse moves over the components or alternatively have sound clips play when user clicks a component (DONT KNOW HOW TO ACHIEVE THIS!!!)
2. watch a demonstration of how to assemble the components in the case.
3. watch a demonstration of how to disassemble the case.
my applicatrion will be web based and i have created the interface (using front page) whish has buttons that should link to the above options.

PLEASE HELP ME WHERE YOU CAN AND IM OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!1

ok, looks like we better move on this then huh!!

ok I need to know where your strong points are here. Also what do you have available?

you could do a rollover based presentation... (need photoshop/imageready)

javascirpt pop ups (need some coding + graphics skill)

flash (this would be allot simpler, but you need to have knowledge of its basics first...)

Whatever way you do it, basicaly your best bet is to render out good shots of it, then maybe pull the video card out and zoom in and render again, ect... or one good render of anything make rollover effects that present your info.

lets decide on a method, then we will go from there!
