edit datagridview; pencil

in the datagridview I start a new record and set dgv.beginedit(true).  How can I make the current row have the pencil mark programatically?

well I made the value of that cell equal to "" and it worked.  Let me know if anybody knows of an actuall property that does this.

the pencil mark only apears, if you are in edit mode.
you can change the edit behaviour by setting the EditMode property of teh datagridview.
if you want to have such an icon on every row also you are not in edit mode, you will have to draw it by yourself.
