need Shell Script help

I have windows 2000 Pro and have heard that if I want windows to rename a folder from say, "c:/backup/cpbackup" to "c:/backup/cpbackup 20.04.06", then a Shell Script can do this.

Could someone help me set it up, as I know ZERO about shell scripts.

Thanks guys

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
