Logon failure while connecting to named pipe

hi all,

I am using a windows 2000 advanced server. I am trying to connect to SQL server using named pipeline. but due to some unknown reasons i am not able to do so.

I am getting following error:
Network error IOException: \\localhost\pipe\sql\query (Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer)

I am logged on to system using admin account. but for your information this is a hardened machine to some restrcitions have been but on it.

can some body tell me why am i getting this error.

Is you SQL server running as a service under LocalSystem? That account isn't granted the right to log on locally.
