System State Backup in Windows 2000

Hello Everyone.
When something goes wrong with the computer suddenly, back in the days (last year), what we used to do was to set back the computer to a previous day when everything was working great..

I have Windows 2000, I don't remember what we had back then... Could have been XP

But can I do this?  Can I reset the computer to yesterday in Windows 2000?
I have XP on the other computer?  Can I do it from there?

Also can you tell me how to do it?
Thank you for your help!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Windows 2000 does not have the feature of system restore as in windows xp.

Instead you can create periodic backups usinng NTBACKUP & restore them in case of crisis.
