mac printing on non compatible printer through windows machine
I have a windows network combined with a new ibook ( intel proc).
I bought by mistake an OKI C3200N networkprinter wich appearently is not compatible with mac.
Is there any way that I can use this printer with my mac? By letting the windows machine use it's compatible driver?
thx

This page: http://www.microtonal.net/ suggests that the OKI C3200N is perfectly Mac compatible. Just connect it by ethernet to your hub, switch, or router, not by USB to your PC.

OKI website says it isn't as wel as there support hotline.
Try following the instructions on the link I sent you. Mac OS X has built in support for a lot of printers that the manufacturer doesn't officially support.

where did you sent the instructions to?
The page says: Mac Compatibility
Not all printers have full Mac compatibility. This one does. Works in OS X perfectly, with all features supported both when accessing as a network computer through Ethernet, or USB. You do have to use the included install CD to install the drivers. If you have Tiger, you should know that you need to go to the "More Printers..." panel in the Apple Printer Setup Utility application to find and activate the driver, either "OKI USB", or "OKI TCP/IP" depending on if you are connecting via USB or Ethernet. If you have an Intel based Mac, you'll need the latest drivers off of the Okidata web site and not the CD.

Is this an official OKI website? On the www.oki.com website there are no drivers for mac for the c3200n...
Than why is the support line telling me it doesn't work with mac at all.
this was there answer :
This printer is a pure GDI printer and has no procesor. All calculations are done by the pc and transmits this towards the printer. For mac or lLinux you need the C5450 printer wich has a processor and also supports PCL and PS language.

As near as I can make out http://www.oki.com appears to be OKI's general web site, whereas http://www.okidata.com is their printer specific web site. It may be that okidata.com is also U.S. specific. Why not go to the Okidata web site and ask them the same question. Or you might simply try downloading the drivers and manual and give it a try.
