Why do my e-mails only bounce back from certain recipients?

When I send e-mails to certain recipients they bounce back with "The user does not accept email in non-Western (non-Latin) character sets."  What do I need to do?

In outlook there is an option to have the email headers in english i think in tools > options > mail format tab if my memory is correct. You could try that.

change the character set that you are using to send out email to these addresses

Use http://www.zoneedit.com/smtp.html to ensure that you can receive the simplest of mails. (There might be a false test for rejection).

Configure your mail to send only plain text, no images, no colors, no fancy fonts, just plain text.
That might influence the outcome.

At the distant end -- If your profile was configured to deliver to a Personal Folders file (.pst) before you upgraded to Office Outlook 2003, you are still using the old Personal Folders file (.pst) that does not support Unicode for storing items delivered from the POP3 account. To resolve this, you should change the delivery location to a Personal Folders file (.pst) that supports multilingual Unicode data.

From the Hosting & Email menu, click Email Accounts.
On the Manage Email Accounts page, click Manage Free Accounts or Manage Email Accounts.
Click the hyperlink of the account you want to modify.
The Edit Email Account page displays.
From the Accept non-Western (Latin) Messages field, select Yes.
Click Save Settings.

Sorry.  The last little bit is not outlook.  It's site specific.

Agree with irwinpks.

However since the issue was not resolved for the questioner, if all three answers are accepted wont it mislead a future referer. I had read through the support but still am a little worried about the concept of awarding points for time and effort unless all comments are verified by a moderator as correct, and the incorrect ones not given points at all. If the EE team is cool with this, I am cool with irwinpks's suggestion.

@upul007...many answers are already accepted here as "assisted".  In this situation consider it a consortium of 3 of us, putting our heads together as a team and take that shotgun out and aiming at our target.  Knowing very well, that each shot will hit.  Misleading...I think not, because if a future seeker of this PAQ rolls up, they now have a recipe to apply to their problem.  There is enough viable content to warrant PAQ...just sit back and enjoy the points. :-)

@venabili, I just realized that there is only 50 points, count me out as I have lots of points already.  Please give to the other guys.

Yo irwinpks you've hurt my feelings. LOL.

Agree with you exactly on the "assisted" matter and hence my post to venabili. I just want to get this off my head. I only need 3000 points per month to keep the membership. I get more satisfaction from knowing I was able to help someone, somewhere else in the world and it really makes my day.
