Get a telephone number from incoming calls for use in a Visual Basic program

We have a Visual Basic program designed to create service calls for a customer.  We have a search routine (by telephone number) to retrieve data for a customer.  What we want to do is to get the phone number when the cusomer calls, and automatically execute the search routine.

Hope someone can help

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi JackVannoy,

You'll want a caller-id control, like this one, and a modem supporting caller-id.

Hi, this comment is for bluedevilfan

Thank you for your answer to my question.  I have been a little slow in responding, because of another project, however I am back on this one now.

It looks like the (Caller ID Box) from may be the answer.  Right now, I need to find, if available, a USB TAPI device that will handle multiple phone lines.  Any idea on where I might find this?

I will respond further on this question in the very near future.

Thanks again
