zephyr_hex I'm interested too but I'm not giving you access to my server.
Can you find us a link?

Think about it...
Depends on what the issue with the CPU is......
A processor that is completely dead or has problems is or may not be capable of running a program to test itself.
.
i have looked all over the place for this thing online.  i know i found it about a year ago... i had lost my disc and after hours of looking on the internet, i found a site that had it.  unfortunately, i did not keep a link to that site.

is there any place that offers free ftp uploads/downloads?
aha!  i found a bootcd that includes this program i'm talking about.
http://www.9down.com/modules.php?name=News&file=print&sid=5263

the program i'm talking about is called The Troubleshooter.  i have version 7.02.

i have never used this Hiren's boot cd...  but it includes The Troubleshooter.
@zephyr_hex . Thank you Sir (or Ma'am.)

The Hiren boot CD does have some useful tools in it -- but it is absolutely ILLEGAL !!
Posting that link is against EE guidelines !!
Oooh... I didn't look that close at what's on it..
I agree with garycase... That ones illegal, at least in the USA...
Copy of The Troubleshooter that I have lists Smart Certify Direct on the opening splash screen.  They have either changed name to or been acquired by cbtdirect.com and The Troubleshooter is not listed as one of the products available.

Micro 2000 has a similar product, Micro Scope, that runs from a boot disk as well.  More info.

Forgot to mention, Micro-Scope is rather pricey.  Over $500 if I remember correctly.

I've tryied with troubleshooter, but the problem seems to be the L1 cache. When i disable it in the bios, the system is slow, but doesnt hang. what other test should i try to be sure? is there a tool to fix it? anny suggestion ( not including changing the processor :o). Thanks
You already accepted an answer.

ok, i've alredy solve it, was the L1 cache of the processor. I suggest to every body that try tufftest pro, was the only one that didnt crash when i was testing, and it shows fails in the "walking ones" test ( memmory test, i dont know the relation with the L1 cache). Changing the processor works fine. Thanks everybody ( sorry, my english sucks.. :o)
