Login Script not working, might be a space issue, basic mapping script
Ok i am trying to map some folders using a login script.. Server is windows server 2003, client computer is win xp.. I have two scripts i am using for two different users, one is for when i want to map all my music folders and one is for when im doing work stuff... Having problems with the music folder mapping script, called login1.bat I believe it has to do with the spacing in the folder names... If someone could try and fix the script and post it back into a message that would be sweet... Below is the script... Clean it up any way you want, just try and explain the reasonings behind that... I'm sort of new to server technoolgy.. Also, not too familiar with the dos environment.. I know %20 would fill spaces in URL's and stuff, but it didnt seem to work for me in the login script, unless maybe i mistyped stuff... Anyways, please post the fix in a message.. Thanks in advance..

ok that didnt work.... think i saw something like ERROR 53... but none of those folders are mapping.... same problem as my first original post....
ASKER
ok, so there is no way of using them the way they are??? kind of wanted to keep original names because i did a winamp media scan and added all the files already using those original mappings.... thing is, first time i mapped the folders, i did it manually, went through network neighborhood and just right clicked map drive... hmmm, i wonder if i change the names of folders if it will mess up my winamp database...
do 1 folder at a time..that way we can isolate the offending folder
ASKER
i am in the process of renaming them already :( i just want to try and get this done real quick so i can go to bed :) thanks... ill let you know how it goes within 10 mins... thanks again!! think you helped me not too long ago too... maybe with my router issue.... which i still have not fixed yet... havent had time to mess with that.... i will tomorow night though.... what time u usually around, because i would like it if i could try and fix that while you are online so i can try other stuff, etc if needed...
it's 9pm Sunday in Hawaii... just about to go to bed.. but just holla' and I'll check my email when I wake up.
ASKER
ok, that worked, the renaming of actual folders being shared... so you get the points.... not exactly the way i wanted it to be fixed, but hey, beggars cant be choosers... :) Thanks again.... now its time to check and see if winamp will still recognize those files from earlier mappings..
cool.. that is good news!
naming convention on sharing files should always be a contiguous name (no spaces)

actually, not sure if you still want to try and help with my router problem... you did comment once, but then you sort of let someone else take over.. well it's 3am here, i need to get to bed... here is the link to my router question... https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21805199/using-a-second-wireless-router-as-a-bridge.html i will try and post something by like noon your time... or something like that... i get home from work around 6pm eastern time... i will post around that time... so you can do the math :) i think thats around noontime for you :) anyways, thanks a lot...
seemed like craig was on a roll..but i'll take look again.
