There are 3 instances, two of which have the SGA max size set to 276MB.  I would like to reduce this to 160 so in OEM I changed the value, clicked apply and then restarted the server but when it comes back up it says 276MB again.  What am I missing?

thanks in advance

you can not change "sga_max_size" using "alter system ..." so you have to go from pfile.
