I have an IBM Netvista computer, upon startup it displays
Security hardware error) ... 193 (IBM embedded security hardware removed

I have tried re-flashing the BIOS and clearing the CMOS settings but this has not helped, and the only way to startup my computer is to Continue on the error and scroll down to exit setup in the BIOS setup. Any help would be most appreciated.

I believe that is your security chip from the motherboard.  Did you recently replace or modify the parts on your motherboard?
If it is a motherboard chip it can be a problem and can't be resolved by BIOS, CMOS or other user actions.  Actually back to IBM for a replacement.

Hope this Helps!!!

Thankyou David, I really can't afford a new board at the moment, so I found a semi-solution (maybe IBM's security isn't so good!) I went into the bios
Start Options
Startup Sequence
Error Startup Seqruence [DISABLED]
I changed this to [PRIMARY] and the system now continues a normal boot after 5 seconds every time I start up.
