Omtool software

Hi every one,

Did any one used Omtool Server ?  in our company we got the trial copy of Omtool Software and is installed on on  dedicated server and is being used for archiving documents and searching on them after that.

The way that it works is that we print a omtool generated cover sheet and then after we scan everything to the server with the cover sheet on the top, then omtool is supposed to transfer and archive that document to the specific folder that is sorted by Year, month, week, day.

But many times it can't handle more than 50 pages and also is very slow, any idea?

Do you have any recommendation or do you suggest any other powerful software?

It sounds like you are using this for Document managment?  You may want to look at the following:

PC Docs (DOCS Open) - http://www.hummingbird.com/products/docsopen/index.html

Interwoven Desksite and Worksite - http://www.interwoven.com/products/worksite/deskmail_site.html

These are primarily used in the Legal community.  They both work the same way.  They use a Database (usually SQL) to maintain a record and location of a particular document.  You could run jobs to place specific files in specific folders based on criteria.

I have used both and we can access and move thousands of files a day without a problem.

mav7469 where can i find a downloadable version of Interwoven Desksite and Worksite, if possible?
