I see no reason why it shouldn't be there... if the font has been installed in the C:\Windows\Fonts directory it should be available to all applications. Have you restarted Illustrator since installing the font?

Jolivare,

Adobe's products are notorious for grouping fonts in orders other than strictly alphabetical. Try checking your whole list of fonts in Illustrator to see if it's been grouped in some other way. It's also possible that while it is on your system, it is not installed, so other applications are not seeing it. Does it appear in other applications, such as Word?

I presume you also checked under other file names and groupings in Illustrator? You may have to go through and look at every one, or it might be under M, etc.

Beyond that, try searching your system for a file named "bod_pstc.ttf", and let's see where that's located.

Jolivare,

Any luck locating the font file?

The font could be listed by it’s postscript name instead of it’s family name

Adobe Illustrator relies on the file type information that is stored in the font.
It’s possible that the font is damaged just enough that Illustrator cannot read the font while other programs can. (try reinstalling the font)

If it is possible that the font is old, know that Adobe reformatted fonts in 1993, but kept the same names. You can locate font file, look at the font date and see if it is older than 1993. If you have a license for the font, you can contact Adobe for an update

Adobe font list files contain a lists of fonts available to Adobe applications. If these files don't all list the same information, fonts may not appear in Adobe application menus. By re-creating the Adobe font list files, you ensure that they are up to date and contain correct information.

Re-create the Adobe font list files to make sure that they aren't damaged.
…. in Windows:
1. Close all applications.
2. Choose Start > Search > For Files or Folders.
3. Search for the font list files:
-- In Windows XP, type "Adobefnt" (including the quotation marks) in the All or Part of the File Name text box, and then click Search.
-- In Windows 2000, type "Adobefnt" (including the quotation marks) in the Named text box, and then click Find Now.
4. Select all files listed, and choose File > Delete. (If you delete a font list file for another Adobe application, the file is re-created the next time the Adobe application is started.)
5. Repeat steps 2-3 for the files Adobefnt05.lst and Adobefnt06.lst.

……in Mac OS X:
1. Close all applications.
2. Choose File > Find, and do one of the following:
-- In Mac OS X v10.1.x, click the hard drive icon at the top of the Sherlock window, type Adobefnt in the text box, and then click the magnifying glass.
-- In Mac OS X v10.2.x or 10.3.x, choose Local Disks from the Search In menu, type Adobefnt in the text box beside File Name Is, and then click Search.
3. Select the file, and choose File > Move to Trash.
4. Repeat steps 2-3 for the files Adobefnt05.lst and Adobefnt06.lst.
5. Restart Illustrator. Illustrator re-creates the font list files during startup.
