control panel error message on a HP Laserjet 3330mfp

How do I fix this problem?  When I turn the printer on it say "device busy, try again later" when I try to print, copy, or fax.  If you don't try to scan, copy, print or fax, and you are just trying to figure the problem out by checking the menu settings; the "scanner bulb warming up" message stays on the control panel.


Please help me because I have racked my brain on this one!

well.. you can't rule out that your HP3330mfp needs repair.

How about resetting the printer?

"scanner bulb warming up" indicates a problem with the scanner's light bulb. It has to get up to a certain brightness before the scanner will operate. It's surprising that it does not time out eventually, but the machine needs repairing. Either the bulb or its driving circuity appears faulty.

did you test it on another PC ? can you do a copy function if disconnected?

ISSUE:
After initializing the unit or when trying to use the scanner, the unit starts up, but the warming up message remains on the display. The HP unit does not react to any of the front panel buttons.
SOLUTION:
Try the following steps to try to solve the issue:
Unplug the power cord from the unit, wait around 10 seconds and plug it back.
Try to make a copy to verify if this procedure solved the issue.
If the unit is still unable to make a copy, avoid any multi-plug device and plug the HP all-in-one straight to the electrical outlet.
Try to make a copy again. If the unit is still failing contact HP for further assistance.
CAUSE:
The scanner bulb is defective or does not receive enough electricity to warm up properly.

@hdhondt...if you're going to propose acceptance of your answer, then you must include mine as I pointed out that the printer needs repair.  The detail you provided is the repair procedure.
