Problem With Outgoing Server in Apple's Email Program

I have been playing around with my Mac's email program, the one that came with Tiger.

I set up a fake account a little while back just to play with the program. It wa a fake yahoo account.

Now I really want to use the email program. I set up my Earthlink account in it, and supposedly removed the yahoo account. I also removed the yahoo servers I had set up, so I thought.

Now I can receive my earthlink mail. But when I try to send an email, I get a message that it can't be sent because the program is still trying to use my old fake yahoo outgoing server! I can't imagine why. I set the earthlink outgoing server as the default. Can anyone help me train the mail program to use the correct server?

    Accepted Solution

delete the email account you have setup.. then recreate it with the correct settings...

DELETE now and simply don't replace the info.

    That worked. Thanks!

I may try to add my second account into Mac's mail as well. If I have trouble I'll let you know...
